Cohabiting

Easter. Why not Bunnies? I’ve got this whole chicken thing down and wouldn’t it be cute if the kids both had a bunny for Easter? In come Beatrix and Peter. The kids loved loved loved them. Until they didn’t. The newness wore off like Christmas presents in February - Soon forgotten. They were living in the shed in what was once home to my day-old chicks but rabbits grow quickly. They were running out of room so hey, why not move them to the chicken coop? It’s big I thought. It’s secure and fully enclosed. So off they went to live with Momma, Gigi, Frieda, Frittata, Chewbacca, Meat (She was a huge girl!!) and all the other wildly named hens. This is perfect! One day in July I am in the coop gathering eggs and something caught my eye. Something was moving and jumping but I did not know what it was. It wasn’t Beatrix or Peter as they were out and about eating. I moved one of the nesting boxes to discover a hole in the ground and within the next few days, six adorable bunnies emerged. How did this happen?? Husband not pleased.
